Processes & Collaboration

Sometimes a new process is needed. Sometimes a process already exists, but no one knows exactly where it stands. And sometimes it looks great on paper, while tasks are still being distributed at the coffee machine in practice.

That doesn’t immediately mean the entire process needs to be redone. Perhaps a few steps are missing, responsibilities aren’t clear, or a hidden process factory has emerged alongside the formal process. Sometimes the process is simply good enough, but needs to be refined and tested in practice.

It helps to work step-by-step with the people involved to see what’s actually happening. First, understand how it works now, before starting a new situation. Running a real case through the process can reveal a surprising amount. This way, you don’t end up with a theoretical ideal process, but a working method that people understand, recognize, and can actually use.
